Career guidance at research institutions

In the cao-OI you find a regulation regarding the use of a maximum of 10 vacation days (Article 9.4, paragraph 4) for career-oriented measures. It is mandatory to make agreements about this in the annual interview. Since PhDs often do not make use of all vacation days, you can convert these 10 vacation days into a budget to for example consult a professional career advice coach. You do not have to pay for the compulsory courses offered by the graduate school (Article 9.4, paragraph 4). If you want to know more, ask about the possibilities at HR or your graduate school.
