Beste promovendus,
In plaats van het rechttrekken van de financiering voor WO, kwam de minister van OCW met een extra bezuiniging van bijna twintig miljoen euro. Ondanks enquêtes die aantonen dat de werkdruk veel te hoog is, een petitie en alle gesprekken, lijkt de minister hiermee de problemen in het WO niet serieus te nemen. Daarom steunt PNN de protestbijeenkomst in Den Haag op 14 december. Als je echt vindt dat er wat moet veranderen, kom dan ook. Juist in het belang van studenten, je collega’s en de toekomst van het WO.
Het is druk en iedereen komt tijd te kort, maar als we niets te doen accepteren we hoe de situatie is. Verandering moet komen vanuit mensen zelf en dit is het moment om dat kenbaar te maken!
De demonstratie zal plaatsvinden op vrijdag 14 december om 13:00. De demonstratie start vanaf de Koekamp in Den Haag. PNN sluit zich aan bij de VAWO (Vakbond voor de Wetenschap). Zij zijn herkenbaar aan de rode jassen met logo.

Dear PhD candidate
Instead of decreasing existing budget cuts on higher education, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science has proposed additional cuts of an estimate twenty million euros. Despite surveys that show that the current workload is far too high, a petition pleading for a nullification of the budget cuts, and a huge ongoing public debate, our current minister does not seem to take the financial problems in higher education seriously. That is why PNN supports the protest meeting in The Hague on December 14th. Please join this protest meeting for the sake of our students, our colleagues, and the future of our higher education.
Everybody is be far too busy and short of time. However, if we don’t speak up, we accept the situation as it is and nothing will change. Change has to come from the people, and this protest meeting is an excellent opportunity to join forces!
The protest meeting will take place on Friday 14 December at 1 pm, and will start from the Koekamp in The Hague. PNN will join the VAWO (Union for Science) They can be recognised by their red coats with the VAWO logo on them.
We hope to see you the 14th!
